The other side of the coin...

I feel compelled to tell another potential side to the story. With all the dangers that can lurk there is a ray of sunshine. Children, teenagers and young adults are able to reach out to other people across the state, the country, the world. Seeing and experiencing the differences as well as the commonalities.
Viewing through a strong lens where they can view the diversity in the world and learn that differences can be beautiful . Maybe they will learn to fully appreciate all life on this planet. Maybe through the stronger lens of their telescope (Internet) will give them a broader view of the world then the generations that came before the Internet.
Maybe they will not feel so alone or isolated when they are feeling different emotions. Sharing things they enjoy with others who enjoy the same time of things. They have the opportunity of opening a door or window that they never saw before. Seeing and gaining an understanding that this is not a safe world. Bad things do happen, but at the same time good things happen. Reading a blog from North Korea where the blogger risks his/her life to get the truth out. Or reading a blog and seeing pictures sent from Israel, Palestine, or Iraq telling a compelling story from a child and what it is like living day to day not knowing when a bomb will drop or someone strapped will explosives will detonate.

What an opportunity to see and explore the world.
